I am a registered psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), also completing post-master’s clinical hours towards registration as a Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologist’s of Ontario (CPO). I am currently finishing up my Master of Psychology thesis requirements at Adler Graduate Professional School and have previously earned my Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto with majors in Psychology and Genetics.
I believe that an authentic connection built on mutual trust, empathy and understanding is the bedrock of a fruitful therapeutic relationship. My practice is based on a client-centred, strength-based approach and takes on a psychoeducational perspective in order to help my clients explore and achieve their true potential. Dependent on my client’s specific needs and goals, I utilize aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Adlerian, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy grounded in a humanistic, existential and positive psychology framework. My areas of speciality include emotional disturbances, addictive behaviors, substance use, anxiety, depression, life transitions and coaching, interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, stress, trauma and spirituality. I have experience working with adolescents, adults, and families from a diverse range of cultural, ethnic, socio-economic and educational backgrounds. More specifically, my previous clinical experiences have afforded me the unique experiences of working with troubled teenagers suffering from addictive behaviors, refugees who have experienced significant trauma, couples pursuing international adoption and most recently with individuals who have been involved in motor vehicle accidents and are suffering from pain and psychological disturbances.
I welcome the opportunity to journey with you on your path to healing, recovery and self-knowledge/realization.
