Ayleen brings over 25 years of experience supporting individuals and families through crisis, trauma, and life transitions. She is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is certified in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), reflecting her dedication to client safety and compassionate crisis intervention.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Ayleen offers bilingual counselling with a special commitment to serving the Latinx community and other diverse populations. Her practice is grounded in warmth, collaboration, and cultural responsiveness, ensuring that clients feel safe, respected, and empowered.
Drawing on her background in vocational counselling and child protection intake work, Ayleen integrates practical coping skills, career guidance, and emotional support to help clients navigate challenges such as stress, anxiety, family conflict, caregiver strain, and cultural adjustment. She works with a wide range of concerns including trauma recovery, addictions, parent-teen conflict, newcomer settlement, and life transitions.
Ayleen’s therapeutic approach is client-centred and integrative, drawing from modalities such as Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Family Therapy.
